Poet’s First Book Becomes An Instant Best Seller

December 16 16:57 2022

On November 10, 2022, poet Lia Montalvo, released her first collection of poems in print “The Swan Effect” through Amazon and the book immediately became a Best Seller!

“’The Swan Effect’ is a collection of stories and poems that articulate my experiences in losing myself and returning back. This book is a promise to myself that is now manifested tangibly.” says Lia Montalvo.

Lia begins with a word of caution for her readers “Trigger Warning: When writing, my mind does not censor itself. While that is such a beautiful thing, in times of deep emotional evaluation, my words can be hard to process.

Check in with yourself. If you feel you are able, I welcome you to my honest truth of self discovery. If you are not, this will be here when you are. Take care of yourself first and always.”

“Lia’s poems are relatable and emotion stirring, as all good poetry should be.” shares BSG Publishing CEO, Kathy Kaye.

More about the author: Lia Montalvo began writing when she was 16 years old and quickly fell in love with the comfort and expression it granted. Creating a poetry book has always been a dream and finally doing so feels extremely rewarding. Writing and reading poetry had brought great comfort to times in which she felt misunderstood and alone. Through sharing her own personal experiences, she hopes to do the same for others, and bring them to a place where they feel validated in the journey they are going through. Although some poems are catered more towards women, this book is for anyone who feels they are at a standstill in their life and needs the push to continue and redefine who they are. The book is formatted with three main chapters and a final one that is more personalized. Through each chapter, the author goes through the journey of losing, realizing, and returning to herself. The experiences she articulates date back to her early teenage years in discovering how to navigate this world as an empath, woman, and young adult. Thoughts and philosophical ideologies around society make their way into poems that were written more recently.

While the process of writing her book was a huge act of love to Ms. Montalvo herself, the real meaning and reasoning for publishing has come after the release. The response to the poems has been the most rewarding aspect of the creative process. Being able to connect with and share personal conversations with strangers, and have conversations she thought she would never have with people in her life who have been around for a while, has been the driving purpose behind the decision to release her work.

Mental health has been slowly getting more normalized within the younger generation, but there is still much more work to do within these conversations. Ms. Montalvo also hopes that with her book, she can help push the topic to the forefront within familial, romantic, and platonic talking points, as a way to guide people in opening up about difficult experiences they may have been or be enduring. Ms. Montalvo gets deeply personal and thanks anyone who takes the timeout to read her story and hopefully learn more about themselves while doing it.
