Hyperspectral Imaging Market Overview:
Hyperspectral images are the process of collecting and processing information through the electromagnetic spectrum. It is the combination of spectroscopy and digital image, implemented to create a spectral contrast within the image. Hyperspectral images are formed using an instrument called a spectrometer. These images are obtained in several wavelengths and are formed in a three-dimensional hyperspectral data cube with two spatial dimensions and one spectral dimension. Hyperspectral images also measure the absorption of electromagnetic radiation, emission and reflection; and providing a unique spectral signature for each pixel used by processing techniques to identify and discriminate materials. Some of the advantages of hyperspectral images are the lack of prior knowledge of the sample and the acquisition of a complete spectrum at each point. In addition, it is a new modality of imaging for the diagnosis of diseases and surgical procedures guided by images.
